(random collection ^^^ of photos from the first year because I'm pregnant and tired and that's how my brain is working at the moment ;) )
I realized as I tried to nap the other day, that I'm a hormonal ball of highs. Sighing over pictures of tiny baby June; looking at her baby book which somehow miraculously I've nearly been able to complete (I'm giving myself a gold star for that one!) and re-watching our home videos from our first two years as parents. Man do we look older. Seriously. What no sleep will do to a person's face... and also waistline ;) Every tired wrinkle worth it, obviously.
And I guess this goes without saying but I'm so grateful that I've recorded all this stuff; that's why this blog started in the first place - because I wanted to look back on un-married Emily and Michael, and I kept it up because I wanted to remember married us, and then us with June and now us as a family of four. I stopped caring somewhere along the way how much of a professional blog it was because I honestly just loved it for us. (That being said, the fact that I've met people and friends along the way has been an added perk and I wouldn't change that part of the blogging world for anything. Anyway, I'm rambling again. It's because I'm emotional and I need to tell everyone how much I love them right now <3)
The point I'm getting at is, as I'm trying so hard to get the sleep I need, in that small window of time when I have the opportunity, and I get side-tracked down memory lane watching our highlight videos from June's first year. I did a few of our trips and holidays, and a re-cap video with a second-a-day from her first year (which is my fave obviously). And before I know it I'm crying and crying and just, why does time go so fast!? It was a really good reminder to try to continue capturing stuff; I've been less likely to record videos since June's first birthday, but I also know realistically that second and third children (Hi - I'm a third child and my mom just told me she can't find my baby book anywhere! It's ok mom, I forgive you!!) get less airtime because life is that much busier. So my goal is to get more videos for this new little baby. I re-watched them with June again this am and it's clear that kids love to see videos and memories as much as mama does so I'm going to try my hardest to give that to each of my kids.
Here are my fave highlight reel videos from June's first year.. I was thinking of doing a bit of bloggy-mom DIY on video editing 101 - let me know if that's something you'd be interested in!
